Yes, probably yes :) I consulted it with weapons experts and they said same thing - caliber is too big for shotgun, but not unreal. The biggest problem would be probably ammo. But ANTR system is not for quick shooting with many shells on the range.

Can I ask you, because as the designer you have an insight: what is it with the rectangular encased gun design that all the sci-fi games and movies sport these days? Is that something graphic designers believe men find particularly cool and awesome or is there a practical side to it, like improved stackability or any other technological or mechanical advantage?

Look into history of design - every era had something typical - round objects in sixties with accent on plastic and colors - for example. And now we love organic - cell-form and repetitive forms, geometric shapes with round corners, facets... And gun hoods are not something new. It also depends on the tastes of each designer - someone likes round objects, someone sharp edges, someone vintage or naked structures with each pipe and screw.

Indeed. It just struck me as remarkable. Everywhere you look this type of gun design exists, especially in games, and I was just wondering what's so appealing and who it originated from. Gun manufactorers even build real guns like this.
Does this appeal to you or are you just following a trend?
